Former Senator Claire McCaskill sat down with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker over a plate of homemade fudge brownies (her take on the famous Palmer House brownie) and pressed Pritzker on his wealth and whether being a billionaire helps or hurts him politically. Plus, Claire talks to him about another race everyone wants to know about: president. Become an MS NOW member today to unlock the full episode.
From Claire: You can find the original Palmer House Brownie recipe online. It is recognized as the original brownie developed for Chicago World’s Fair. Problem is, it’s made with walnuts, which I am not a fan of. So I substituted almonds and used a raspberry glaze instead of an apricot glaze. This is a VERY fudgy brownie.
TIP: Good idea to refrigerate them overnight before slicing. They are really more like fudge than brownies.
